Haltech EFI systems have been successfully installed on thousands of vehicles, from power offshore boats to twin-turbo Ferraris to jet skis and snowmobiles.
Over the past decade, many motorsport enthusiasts have discovered that the Haltech computer is easy to use and performs well by enabling users to precisely control ignition timing and fuel delivery. F10X Manual Injection pulses usually occur one or more times per engine cycle. The ECU uses a trigger signal locked to engine speed in order to determine when to inject.
When it receives an appropriate trigger, the ECU applies a magnetising current to the injector coils for precisely as long as the final computed injection time, providing an extremely accurate delivery of fuel that will exactly suit the engine's needs.
F10X Manual 1. The MAP sensor is used to measure engine load or barometric pressure depending on the application. The sensor works in absolute pressure that means when the sensor is used to measure manifold pressure, the pressure reading in the manifold does not need compensation due to changes in barometric pressure. F10X Manual Mounting The MAP sensor is usually mounted high on the engine bay firewall or inner guard using two screws and with the hose nipple facing outwards.
Connect the sensor to the inlet manifold via a short length of vacuum hose and fasten with either hose clamps or nylon cable ties. Connect the sensor to the main wiring harness using the appropriate plug. For 1 Bar sensors the plug is green, for 2 and 3 Bar sensors the plug is orange. F10X Manual sensor holes, it is often possible to mount the Haltech sensor in one of these holes.
A thread adapter is sometimes necessary. In some engines only one temperature sensor hole exists and is used for the dashboard gauge sender. It is usually possible to install a tee-piece to allow both the dashboard sender and the Haltech sender to share access to the same threaded hole.
F10X Manual Once a suitable position has been located for the air temperature sensor a hole should be drilled and tapped to accept the sensor. Remove the manifold or inlet tract from the engine before machining the sensor mount. Do not allow any metal particles to enter the inlet manifold of the engine as these will be drawn into the engine and damage it.
Wash all components before reassembly. The sensor uses the exhaust gas to detect if the engine is lean or rich. Many late model engines already have provision for an exhaust gas oxygen sensor and the sensor provided should fit any standard exhaust mount.
F10X Manual These relays should be mounted on the firewall or an inner guard. Do not mount the relays such that they could catch and collect splashed water. Residual water inside the relay housing will cause them to fail. Mount them with the tab upwards as shown in the diagram. The fuse block is supplied from the factory with fuses installed.
It is desirable that the ECU be given as much protection from the environment as possible. It is recommended that the ECU be mounted inside the passenger compartment, either on the firewall, under the dashboard or under the passenger seat. The ECU has four mounting holes that allow it to be mounted to most flat surfaces.
F10X Manual Orange The two orange wires are used to operate the fuel pump. When the ECU wants to operate the fuel pump it will close the fuel pump relay connecting the two orange wires together.

The instructions call for 4-A, 3-B, 1-C and 2-D. You must make this change, 1-D and 2-C instead. This is the best way to view and enter your tuning numbers.
Just for fun, choose any number on the chart keep in mind the engine will change operation habits by doing this, so always have another copy on hand. Choose a cell, it becomes highlighted, now hit PgUp or Pg Dn on the keyboard.
This will change the value up or down. Set it much higher than it was just for fun. This will linearise all the numbers in that area so the engine will make the transitions smoothly. Those are the basics for changing table values and when connected to a running engine you will see the changes take effect in real time.
Here is how. Injector Dead-time — Use 1. I can not find any specs for these injectors. Use the L key for the rest in between. Click that tab and set your fan on value and fan off value. If you want to tune your engine yourself without a dynamometer it is somewhat easy as long as you have a basic understanding of how engines work. I suggest using the VE method for tuning. If you have used the settings I have included above it should run fairly good but every engine is different.
Grab your passenger and go for a ride. During the road test perform normal driving cruising conditions to get your basic map underway. Mar 13, 1. I have a 90 gsx with an elite I am having an issue getting it started and i am staring to think it is a trigger setup issue.
Can anyone share what they are using for trigger settings on an elite ecu. All the wiring has been checked, timed in with a timing light, im getting spark and fuel, and im getting a good rpm signal. Im running a 1g CAS the one with the connector not the wires and sequential ignition.

You cannot use Evo 1 trigger settings and direct fire without getting an output assignment error. Mar 20, 6. I got it all figured out. Rookie mistake. Fellow Haltech peoples At the pointy end of getting my son's Aristo back on the road after putting a GT40 on it with some 's and an old E Wired it up in piggy back to keep the stock ECM running the auto box but can't seem to have a win on the trigger setup on the E We have no RPM registering apart from a brief "blip" after we stop cranking.
I have the Home wiring going to pins 6 and 26 of the 80 pin connector for the front cam angle sensor lots of people claiming both front and back as the best to use but we have had no luck with the rear sensor? The Trigger setup seems to be where the issue is, I have the CAS setup on pins 7 and 27 of the 80 pin plug but nothing I do seems to help the trigger count on the diagnostics page tried both polarities etc.
Crank it for a bit and as soon as we stop cranking it registers one Trigger count but the Home count has gone up progressively as we've been cranking.
Seems to indicate to me that the wiring is ok and that maybe a setting is incorrect? I'm using a 2JZ 3 Bar base map supplied by Haltech and it worked well when I did my single turbo on my Aristo many years ago. So the engine can't start normally. Attachments may only be downloaded by paid Gold members. Read more about becoming a Gold member here. The timing mode you're using is pretty straight forward and very common so you should have no trouble. The key is to ensure that the home signal doesn't occur anywhere near the missing tooth which it looks like you've achieved.
Rather than reinvent the wheel, here's the recommendations from Haltech on setting the tooth offset and trigger angles:. Disable the injectors in your Fuel Setup 2.
Lock the Timing, you can pick any angle to lock it at so long as you have a reference.
I can see your degree marking on the front cover, so pick any value that corresponds to any one of them. Set the trigger angle to 60, we will fine adjust this later. Crank the engine and look for the timing marks with a timing light. Adjust the tooth offset until you are within 10deg 1-tooth of your timing mark.Test mail server tool mac
The tooth offset is now found. The engine should be startable now, so Enable the injectors and fire it up. Adjust the trigger angle until the timing lines up perfectly on 10BTDC. If you find the timing is moving with changes in RPM, enable the Variable Trigger Angle and use this map to fill out different triggers angles at different RPM to keep the timing aligned.
When you are all done, disable the Timing Lock. With regard to every cylinder firing at TDC I'm not sure what to make of that. Perhaps it might help to post your calibration here. Don't have an account? Register here.

Problem with Haltech PS2000 trigger setup.
In regard to trigger, fuel and ignition. Injection mode gives me 4 options: - Sequential - Semi sequential - Batch -Multipoint, Reading here i understand my dizzy cant run sequential but im not sure whether to choose batch or multi point whats the difference? Actually its probably an addiction. Re: Haltec Setup. If you feel brave you could remove 3 of teeth off the 4-tooth wheel and then you could plus you could then run waste-spark or sequential spark - but you'd then have to work out where in the timing cycle that remaining tooth is.
Will be apples! PM me if you need a hand with the haltech. Hey man. Im running a haltech E6A on my 4age, I'm also using a dizzy ignition setup so I imagine our configurations will be very similar. Fuel Injection I use 'multipoint'. As I understand it, this means all injectors fire at the same time. Its not quite as efficient as batch fire or sequential but its more simple for the electronics to drive as it only needs a single 'driver' from the ECU for all four injectors.
I think this is the way the factory injectors are driven anyway. Another way to tell your best configuration is the injector harness. If all injector plugs are on the one channel than you have multipoint. I'd have a close look at the sprint manual to see which setup is best for you with what you have. Haltech documentation is pretty comprehensive from my experience.
These are distributor based ignition or direct fire. Distributor based ignition only has one coil that provides spark to all plugs, whereas direct fire has more than one coil, usually one coil per spark plug. The bottom line is that if you want to go direct fire and have multiple ignition coils then your trigger setup gets more complicated and needs a 'home' trigger to tell the ECU which coil to fire first because order becomes important as there is no longer a distributor 'distributing' a generic spark event to the correct plug.
A 'trigger' event refers to a spark event, so every time the ecu receives a trigger signal, it needs to produce a spark. I'm not quite sure how to build a trigger setup for toothed wheel CAS because I'm using a hall effect sensor with wheel with magnets.
If there is an option to just change out your CAS with a 4agze CAS and your haltech can natively support itthen I would definately go with that option.Sign up for venmo without phone number
The problem I had was my haltech is so old that it can't read the 4age and 4agze cam angle sensors, so i had no choice but to custom make a trigger sensor system. PM me also if you want a hand.
